Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.Sand allied military capabilities with advanced technologyBy bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century's most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and soldAnduril's family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control centerAs the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not yearsWe are working on cutting edge complex systems that must deliver critical capability on accelerated timelines to support our development and deployments tasksAs part of building the systems engineering organization, we are looking to add an experienced safety engineer who will work side by side with the systems engineers to develop the system architecture and conduct all phases of the safety analysis across the systems engineering VWHAT YOU'LL DO--- Write safety program plans based on knowledge of MIL-STD-882E--- Conduct Functional Hazard Analysis--- Conduct safety analyses for systems, subsystems, and components, using methods such as Fault Tree Analysis, Event Tree Analysis, and Markov Analysis--- Develop safety requirements and support design of solutions to satisfy safety requirements--- Develop preliminary hazard lists and conduct preliminary hazard analysis--- Conduct hardware and software system requirements hazard analysis--- Develop system safety assessment reports--- Conduct hazardous materials analysis--- Support technical design reviews--- Conduct Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)--- Manage the Hazard Tracking Database--- Conduct safety critical function thread analysis (SCFTA)--- Provide technical guidance and support to UAS program managers, chief engineers and operators--- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate safety risks--- Conduct safety testing and validation of UAS systems--- Familiarity and experience with the following standards and handbooks: MIL-HDBK-516C, MIL-STD-882E, ARP-4761, ARP-4754A, DO-178C, DO-254, and Joint Software Systems Safety Engineering Handbook--- You will be a systems engineer who interfaces with stakeholders including internal programs and external customers--- You will develop artifacts based on stakeholder needs and work closely with functional areas to ensure artifacts are complete and accurateModel Artifacts will often be contractual deliverables and require demonstration at stakeholder meetings and events--- Participate in the development of our Digital and Systems Engineering Strategy and Implementation--- Develop a deep understanding of transformational value of Anduril platforms, autonomy, simulation, and perception products through the creation and maintenance of systems engineering artifacts QUALIFICATIONS--- B.Sin aerospace, mechanical, computer science or similar engineering or technical field--- 2+ years Systems Safety Engineering Experience across the life cycle--- Experience with Systems Engineering, Requirements Elicitation and Management, Integration, and Test Activities on complex systems - DoD Weapon Systems, Space Systems, etc...--- Experience with SysML, DoDAF, UAFP, or similar--- Experience with Cameo MagicDraw or similar systems engineering software (Rhapsody, SparxEA, etc...)--- Experience with Digital Engineering workflows and Integrated Modeling Environments (i.eTeamwork Cloud)--- Outstanding communication skills to include presentation of developed artifacts--- Must hold an active U.SSecret security clearance--- Must be able to obtain and hold a U.STop Secret security clearance EVEN BETTER--- Mission Modeling experienceFor example, working knowledge of OCA/DCA, ISR, SEAD/DEAD, Electronic Attack, or Integrated Fire Control missions--- Experience Cameo Simulation Toolkit plugin for Cameo MagicDraw--- Proficiency with Mathworks products (MATLAB, SIMULINK etc.)--- INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) Certification US Salary Range $124,000 - $231,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary onlyActual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerationsHighly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers;
