Job Description:

Position Summary The Senior Accountant supports the Accounting Manager in all aspects of accounting. This position is responsible for the monthly close and preparation of financial statements and other reports to deliver accurate, timely information to Management. Key Responsibilities: ---Lead the monthly and quarterly close processes for various entities ---Perform variance analysis and prepare explanations for review ---Prepare and enter journal entries ---Initiate wires and ACH transactions ---Count and reconcile physical cash ---Reconcile general ledger accounts ---Reconcile intercompany accounts ---Reconcile bank accounts ---Review AP invoice coding ---Audit transactions from multiple systems to ensure accurate postings ---Maintain fixed asset records ---Prepare and file California escheat forms ---Special projects as requested ---Establish and maintain effective relationships with all departments Experience ---Four years of full charge bookkeeping experience, or equivalent in a corporate environment ---Quickbooks experience a plus ---Manufacturing industry background preferred Established skills ---Solid understanding of financial statements ---Understanding of cost accounting ---Ability to meet deadlines ---Reputation for calm professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions with peers, junior or front line staff and senior managers Characteristics ---Ability to operate in an extremely fast-moving, unstructured, entrepreneurial environment ---Inherent ability to pay attention to detail ---Extremely self-motivated and able to work diligently with limited direction ---High energy level, positive attitude, strong work ethic and results oriented ---Exceptionally organized, time sensitive, and disciplined with strong follow though ---Strong written & oral communication skills including advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
