Job Summary:
The CYBCYL Foundation is looking for a distinctive and special person to be the Executive Director of our life-changing organization. Our education and patient care are changing the face of psychiatry and mental health for the better and we are looking for a leader to move our mission and vision forward. This executive position will work with the board of directors to build the foundation's infrastructure and policies; set a strategic vision for the organization; build and articulate a case for support to potential giving partners; manage the foundation's staff, operations, and finances; collaborate with the foundation's Research Director to ensure compliance with federal funding guidelines; and act as the foundation's leading advocate among other foundations, research centers, the media, general public, and other aligned groups. -The ideal candidate for this role is a seasoned leader with a visionary's energy for building. The ED will report to the Board of Directors and manage the foundation's staff. The only current staff member is the foundation's Research Director, but the Amen Clinics' marketing team will serve a supporting role. Future staff growth is a priority and will be managed by the Executive Director. A deep understanding of philanthropy and nonprofit leadership, and a willingness to learn from partners and to inspire creative solutions will serve the ED well in this role. The ED must be able to cultivate, build, and maintain strong and authentic relationships with a wide range of partners and community leaders including donors, nonprofit executives, schools and universities, government agencies, and elected leaders. Significantly honed communication skills including public speaking, written communications, knowledge of public relations, and social and traditional media skills will be highly beneficial in building the visibility of the foundation. Integrity and a commitment to the vision and values of the foundation will be crucial. Additionally, the ED will lead, inspire, and support the Board of Directors in their philanthropic work, communicating so that each member is heard, valued, and understands their part in the foundation's work. -This role represents an incredible opportunity to build a nonprofit organization with extraordinary potential for growth and impact. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop a strategic vision for the CYBCYL Foundation as a leading advocate of brain health.Work collaboratively with CYBCYL staff, board members, and donors to stabilize and strengthen the organization's finances and governance.Assess the CYBCYL Foundation's operational and financial processes and governance protocols, recommend enhancements and implement recommendations in concert with the board.Oversee budgeting, the annual financial audit, tax filings, and maintenance of correct and complete records required for the healthy operation of the foundation.Arrange and attend board meetings and activities including preparing facilities and agenda; oversee materials development; implement board directives; communicate with the Board between meetingsDesign and implement an aggressive fundraising strategy that meets budgeted goals and sets the stage for future expanded fundraising.Cultivate relationships with prospective board members and create a culture of excellence in governance and volunteer management that will make serving as a board member attractive and meaningful.Provide excellent supervision and support to the professional staff to ensure that they develop and execute successful strategies to advance the organization's mission.Strengthen relations with key stakeholders and strategic partners in the community.Create a collegial work environment that seeks healthy, sustainable growth with a commitment to transparency, trust, and collaboration across the organization.Provide support for a strategic planning process conducted by the board in partnership.Produce effective communications including written proposals, newsletters, direct mail pieces, etc.Build relationships with key stakeholders and influential leaders within education or nonprofit spaces.Update CYBCYL website regularly.Maintain a visible profile for the CYBCYL Foundation in the community by participating in events, seminars, and conferences. Demonstrate and educate regarding best practices. -

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Minimum of 5 years of nonprofit experience in a leadership position.Four-year bachelor's degree minimum, master's degree preferred.Strong written and oral skills.Experience in publications and communications.Proficient in Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Clearly demonstrated knowledge and experience in philanthropy, development, public policy, governance, and board development.Experience in strong financial and organizational management; knowledge of financial instruments, rules, regulations, and standards for family foundations.Evidence of developing and implementing strategy by being a strategic thinker, planner, and executor with an inclusive operating style that encourages engagement.A history of strong collaboration and actively seeking strategic partnerships.Excellent written and oral communication skills including explaining complex issues and findings to executive leaders.Experience in strong financial and organizational management; knowledge of financial instruments, rules, regulations, and standards for nonprofits.Evidence of developing and implementing strategy by being a strategic thinker, planner, and executor with an inclusive operating style that encourages engagement.Excellent analytical ability including the ability to summarize complex issues clearly and concisely and to develop and convey cogent recommendations.Has sound judgment, tact, humility, and discretion required to work effectively with foundation partners.High emotional intelligence with humility and grace; someone who is at ease in many places and with all people; able to interact with diverse communities with inclusivity, grace, and confidence.A good listener and strategist; comfortable receiving input from many sources and able to bring others together, building consensus, and creating cohesive and well-supported plans.Strong work ethic coupled with an enthusiastic and optimistic approach to one's work.
