to life Galileo's curriculum, teaching a different theme each week,
thoughtfully created by our year-round curriculum design team. We

This role is seasonal Full Time, working Monday - Friday. YOU
WILLPrepare for and teach rotations of Galileo curriculum to groups
of up to 30 campers, typically repeating the lesson with three
different groups of campers in the same age groupElementary K-5th:
Prepare for and teach three rotations of Galileo curriculum to
groups of up to 30 campers as a multi-subject instructor (art,
science, and innovation design challenges) and/or outdoor play
instructor. Final placement will be determined during training.
STEAM 5th-8th: Prepare for and teach three rotations of Galileo
curriculum per day in innovation, design challenges, and/or outdoor
play to groups of up to 30 campers. This age group will utilize
power tools such as drills to complete larger week-long
projects.Teach the curriculum as written, adapting it as needed to
improve the camper experience or accommodate individual campers,
and capturing feedback to share with curriculum developersMaintain
safe environments for all campers and provide leadership and camp
spirit to all campersContribute to and participate in daily camp
activities, including check-in and check-out, opening/closing
ceremonies and snack & lunch supervision and programmingAssist with
daily set up and cleanup of campSummer Instructors will report to
the Camp Director and receive professional development and ongoing
coachingYOU HAVECollege degree preferred but not requiredExperience
working with kids or in a camp setting a plusGenuine love for and
interest in working with children and/or educationAbility to
maintain an excellent work ethic, a high level of energy, and
exceptional enthusiasm each dayFlexibility to meet changing needs
and demands while balancing multiple tasks efficiently Desire to
work collaboratively on a team, with an openness to feedback and a
desire to grow professionallyStrong organization skills and
attention to detailGreat communication skills, both written and
verbalMust be at least 18 years of age by May 26, 2023Valid
CPR/First Aid certification OR ability to become certified prior to
the start of camp Valid Mandatory Report Certrification OR ability

PERKSCompensation for this positions starts at $17.00 per hour and
ranges up to $25.20 per hour for returning staff; your exact pay
rate will be determined based on a variety of factors including
work location and years of employment with Galileo Camps. Summer
staff positions are hourly, non-exempt roles.Paid Training prior to
the start of camp.A free week of camp for your own child! Plus, 50%
off additional summer camp sessions for your child Thats an average
of $250 savings per week!
