Hardware Engineer - Design Criteria and Standards Anduril -

defense! - WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build an industry-leading set of design standards that enable
best practices across all Anduril hardware products (land, air,
space, and sea) giving exposure to unique and interesting aspects
of the engineering process
- Leverage first principles analysis, design/prototyping, and
comprehensive experiments to inform these efforts. Leverage
in-house and out-of-house capability to ensure tests occur on an
aggressive schedule
- Develop tools/references that enable and force-multiply the
efforts of the whole engineering organization
- Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to distill their
knowledge into targeted guidelines and tools relevant to all
Anduril products
- Refine and present disparate documentation (industry
specifications, recommendations, references, lessons learned) into
one cohesive single-source-of-truth
- Lead education efforts with new hires, discussions/brainstorms
with responsible engineers, and participate in design reviews. Win
people over with knowledge and data to create a shared
understanding of our internal best practices, where they come from,
and why they are important
- Implement reviews where needed to ensure high standards of
excellence and engineering rigor
- Constantly evolve these standards and tools with an aggressive
forward-looking mentality. Roll in new technology trends, address
new challenges, etc.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or higher degree in engineering or a hard
science
- A natural propensity to organize information, get to the bottom
of sticky issues, find the very best solution to challenges, make
processes better over time, and artfully document information
- A deep proficiency (professionally and as a hobby) in
mechanical or electrical design, structural or thermal or
aero/hydro analysis, opto-mechanical design, or other
practical/applied engineering field. NOTE: It is expected that
you'll naturally get pulled into your depth as time allows around
the duties of the design criteria role
- Ability to produce elegantly simple and concise engineering
documentation
- 4+ years of experience working in a high performing engineering
organization
- Highly motivated, self-starting, and able to perform duties
autonomously without supervision. An inherent desire to work
closely with others
- Very organized and willing to establish scope and requirements
for ill-defined problems
- Passion for defending the United States and her alliesPREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience developing code in higher level languages (e.g.
Python, MATLAB, C++) for developing analytical models and data
