Role

As a Senior Java Developer for NB Fintech Rules Platform, you'll be key in building an advanced rules engine to enable complex payment rules for healthcare-related payments. You'll work with a team of skilled developers to create innovative healthcare payment solutions serving millions of people every day. Preference given to candidates in the Bay, Phoenix, Dallas, Austin, and Miami/Fort Lauderdale areas.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient Java code for the rules engine and other healthcare payment solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, and designers, to understand requirements, design solutions, and develop features
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure code quality, performance, and reliability
• Write unit and integration tests to validate functionality and ensure stability
• Keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends to continually improve development practices and processes
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers to help them grow their skills and knowledge
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of project status, issues, and risksQualifications:
  
  • 7+ years of Java development experience in a professional setting
  • Experience with cloud computing, preferably Azure, and related technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
  • Strong knowledge of messaging platforms such as Kafka
  • Familiarity with Azure SQL and CosmosDB is a big plus
  • Experience with agile software development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban
  • Solid understanding of software design patterns, principles, and best practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
