Reporting to the VP of Sales & Marketing of Phelps United, the Director of Business Development is responsible for driving company sales by identifying profitable business opportunities and developing long-term business growth strategies.

Position Summary:

The Director of Business Development will be responsible for developing creative processes to generate new business leads. Experience in IT Hardware Sales is a Plus.

You will be responsible for helping to grow the company by managing the business development team and identifying and contacting decision makers at potential new target clients. In addition, you will be researching leads, establishing relationships with potential clients, communicating the Company's value proposition and services, identifying areas of opportunity, and arranging appointments for more detailed conversations with our sales leaders and other company executives.

The goal for this successful candidate is to help add additional manufacturers to our portfolio of clients we are representing on the Amazon marketplace.

Responsibilities:


Work with Marketing to refine the companies value prop and create pitches and demand generation campaigns for potential new clients
Develop training program for quickly on-boarding new business development specialists
Hire, train, and manage a team of business development specialists
Develop reporting and manage the team based on agreed upon KPIs and milestones
Attain weekly and monthly assigned quota of outbound lead generation activities
Regularly report progress to senior leadership
Rigorously prospect for new business and follow up with target leads, keeping complete notes and tracking in your CRM
Duties include outbound calling, e-mail, social media and text communication and overall management of sales pipeline through the sales cycle
Manage cultivation of inbound sales inquiries to convert leads to appointments
Preparing and delivering pitches and presentations to potential new clients
Identifies ideas by researching industry and related events publications, and announcements
Discovers, research and contacts potential client opportunities
Attempts to better understand potential client's needs and goals
Enhances organization's reputation by representing the Company professionally and knowledgeably.
Communicating with clients to understand their needs and offer solutions to their problems
Identifying and researching opportunities that come up in new and existing markets
Attain weekly and monthly assigned quota of outbound lead generation activities
CRM usage, must enter all activities with prospects and customers


Qualifications / Skills/ Qualities:


Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or related field; master's degree is advantageous.
Proven business development, sales, or marketing experience.
Past achievement in new and expanded client business in the IT industry is a plus
Exceptional leadership and management skills.
Effective communication and negotiation skills
Strong business acumen
Detail-oriented and persuasive
Desire to achieve sales goals
Ability to use or quickly learn CRM and marketing/lead technologies
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
