Salary Range: $64,480 - $80,000

JOB OVERVIEW Under the supervision of the CMO and VP of Merchandising, the -Grocery Category Managerperforms the following duties:

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develops category goals & strategies and product assortments through the lens of our core customer, ensuring a strong mix of national brand product relevance, best-in-class local product relevance, and best-in-class private label product relevance
• Responsible for business financial performance, developing strategies that drive profitable sales through data-rich, customer centric assortment selection, product development, pricing, presentation, and promotion
• Accountable for the financial performance of the designated product portfolio, and for the performance of the supplier network that supports these categories
• This role has a high degree of accountability to the outcomes of the business, along with a keen understanding of how to work across teams and influence broadly to achieve the objective
• Operates as a subject matter expert for their product categories, inclusive of industry knowledge, familiarity with suppliers and broader industry
• Actively consumes and distills data into actionable insights for the business
• Collaborates with stakeholders on achieving financial plans and category objectives
• Execute category strategy based on financial expectations, category role, category performance, customer and product trends and competitive landscape
• Develops and nurtures key strategic partnerships and strong working knowledge of the supplier and industry landscape
• Actively manages the performance of our supplier network through communication and regular engagements to keep close on progress and ensure prioritization of key initiatives
• Understands customer trends and stays focused on competitive landscape
• Provides accurate and complete information in reports and communications
• Proficient using MS Office, Excel, database and word processing programs
• Exceptional organization and attention to detail
• Strong decision-making, negotiation, and leadership skills
• Ability to multi- task and succeed in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
• Previous experience with planogram execution required
• Works in a fast-paced environment with a focus on customer service
• Flexibility for shifts, days, and schedules. Hours may vary and may include Holidays and weekends
• Must be willing to travel to stores and tradeshows on an occasional basis
• Performs other duties as assigned Job Requirements
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiating experience.
  • The team has a passion and knowledge of natural foods. Natural foods experience not required but beneficial.
  • Proficient in Outlook: email and calendar management
  • Proficient in PowerPoint
  • Available to work weekdays and as needed nights and weekends Qualifications
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in category management and team leadership, and/or food industry/product development equivalent.
    • Experience operating in a robust merchandising/purchasing operation to include assortment planning, inventory management, space & adjacency planning, promotion and price planning
