Program Manager, Serving the Orange County & Inland Empire Region
Based out of our Orange County & Inland Empire District Office

Our programs educate students on Financial Literacy, Career and Workforce Readiness, and Entrepreneurship!! Join our vibrant and dedicated team and make a difference in the lives of Orange County & Inland Empire K-12 students & young adults 18-24 years old by managing our JA Programs in-classroom programming, which brings volunteers from the local community into classrooms to teach youth from an early age how to manage money, how to start and manage businesses, and how to prepare for the working world. All our programs integrate lessons that help students plan their educational and career pathways. This full-time position is responsible for managing a range of JA Programs and volunteer engagement, specifically in the areas in and around Orange County and Inland Empire.
SUMMARY: Overall responsibility for managing volunteer engagement and implementing JA Programs in schools throughout in and around the Orange County & Inland Empire Region. Includes coordination of classroom programming opportunities (in K-12 schools and young adults 18-24 years old), recruitment and placement and training of volunteers. Also includes development and coordination and execution of special student events and competitions, some grant tracking and management, and general assistance with other duties as assigned. - Full-time, 40-hour per week, regional district office located in Costa Mesa. Portion of time worked off-site for recruitment, management, volunteer engagement, and program delivery at schools and volunteer sources in assigned region (mileage provided).
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT WITH JA SCHOOL PARTNERS AND VOLUNTEERS:


  • Renew, recruit, manage, and steward assigned relationships with school partners and volunteers.
  • Renew, recruit, and manage JA program participation from partner schools and partner volunteer sources in assigned geographic region as needed to meet student service goals.
  • Steward existing relationships and identify new school and volunteer partners to replace any non-renewing partnerships needed to meet student goals.

    PROGRAM FACILITATION:

    • Set and manage expectations, plan for logistics and communicate clearly with all school, volunteer and funder stakeholders and partners for program preparation and program delivery.
    • Work with internal staff team to ensure effective program execution, communication, and delivery.
    • Oversee delivery of program materials to volunteers and train all volunteers as needed, with strong attention to program quality and development of long-term relationship. Anticipate and prepare for school specific needs and circumstances for program delivery.

      DATA MANAGEMENT:

      • Accountable for tracking projected and verified student participation on internal organizational spreadsheets and databases. Includes entering teacher, school and volunteer constituents into BCRM as defined by the Chief Education Officer.


        • Manage constituent accounts via BCRM and coalesces data for reporting and information sharing purposes.

          PROGRAM EVALUATION AND MANAGEMENT:

          • Administer pre and/or post evaluation tools to students, teachers and volunteers for select program events. Ensure that grant funding program delivery expectations are fully satisfied in assigned geographic area, and that all plans are executed, and milestones hit.
          • Write and file program reports as needed. Assist with strategy for JA Programs future growth and development.

            VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT:

            • Responsible for recruiting, building, strengthening, and fostering volunteer relationships in alignment with our district goals and in collaboration with the Director of Corporate Engagement (who leads the volunteer program for the district as it relates to the organization's overall community and corporate partner goals for the Orange County & Inland Empire District Office).
            • Build, manage, and foster relationships with new and existing community, funding, and corporate partners in collaboration with the district staff team.
            • Recruit assigned community and corporate volunteers needed for Orange County & Inland Empire District programs.
            • Work collaboratively with the Director of Corporate Engagement and the Regional Executive Director to understand program direction and needs for the Orange County & Inland Empire District.
            • Coordinate and facilitate volunteer training for volunteers.
            • Develop, elevate, maintain, strengthen, & foster strong relationships with all constituents. Engage in year-round relationship building with assigned accounts. Provide good stewardship to accounts to elevate and retain their support.
            • Develop key partnerships throughout Orange County and Inland Empire. Network through professional organizations, service clubs and/or Chamber networking events.

              TEAMWORK:

              • Work collaboratively with all district, regional, and area staff; including the education staff team and all other departments to ensure that all departmental and organizational goals are met and to ensure exceptional quality of student programming, volunteer experience, and community, board and stakeholder engagement. Performs other job-related duties as assigned or requested.

                REQUIRED:
                Bachelor's degree and/or 5+ years in non-profit work; ability to create strategies to balance short-term requirements with long-range business plans; works well in a team environment; strong computer and technology skills; strong work ethic and accountability; ability to build and sustain relationships; excellence in customer service; management skills such as problem-solving, decision-making, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Volunteer recruitment & management experience. Willing to work in the field and in the office, and commute to various communities assigned throughout the region. Must be able to lift 25 pounds; have a California driver license, and have reliable transportation that is California insured, for work-related travel throughout the area (mileage reimbursed), and due to our work with schools, must be fully vaccinated, with exceptions for medical requirements or sincerely held religious beliefs.
                DESIRED:
                2+ years' experience working in educational environment and/or strong understanding school culture and Orange County School Districts' calendar cycles. Working knowledge of BCRM fundraising and CRM database, or other similar fundraising or CRM databases desired.
