Human Resources Manager

JOB DIMENSIONS: Job Summary :
Under minimal direction, the Human Resources Manager will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resources (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission and talent strategy. Reports to : Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department ;
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department ;
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations; and
  • Handles departmental disciplinary and termination processes in accordance with company policy. Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand and support the organization's goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention;
    • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs;
    • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leaves of absence; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety, workers compensation; and training and development;
    • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management;
    • Conducts research and analyses of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's Human Capital Management (HCM) system;
    • Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance;
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management;
    • Develops and implements departmental budget;
    • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff;
    • Acts as Affirmative Action Officer;
    • Performs other duties as required.
    • Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position; and
    • Fully complies with and enforces company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations. QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:
      Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following :

      Experience/Training/Education :
      • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred;
      • Minimum 5 years experience in human resource management capacity required;
      • Legal background and knowledge highly preferred;
      • International HR experience preferred; and
      • SHRM or HRCI certification a plus. Required Skills/Abilities:
        • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
        • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills;
        • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
        • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines;
        • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
        • Strong supervisory and leadership skills;
        • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees;
        • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate;
        • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations;
        • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; and
        • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HCM system. Physical Requirements :
          • Most work tasks are performed indoors where temperature is moderate and controlled by office environment systems;
          • Ability to work (sit and/or stand) at a desk for the majority of the work day; walking and/or standing may be required for the remainder of the work day. Length of time performing these physical requirements may vary from day to day and task to task;
          • Requires grasping, writing, sitting, standing, walking, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening, hearing ability, and visual acuity;
          • Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, filing cabinets, and other office equipment as applicable;
          • Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 15 lbs.;
          • Ability to safely walk/move about on uneven and/or sand-covered surfaces throughout the 20-acre facility; and
          • Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined;
