Job Description:

The Retail Planner is a trusted partner to support the 5.11 Retail financial strategy. This key role will identify and provide analysis on important business opportunities and possible risks within the channel. The planner will work with buying and allocation to ensure end-to-end strategy execution and merchandise line productivity. Serving as the bridge between Merchandising and Supply Chain, they will create a financial link between these two essential groups and have a heavy influence in important decisions from a financial strategy standpoint.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain channel OTB across all categories to ensure optimal performance is achieved by month, quarter, and year, while managing to plan goals and inventory investment
  • Determine ship from store inventory levels needed to support ecommerce sales while protecting retail store in stocks.
  • Review monthly forecasts and reconcile against plans.
  • Manage in-season profitability to achieve or exceed seasonal performance
  • Collaboration with Retail Merchants to develop customer segment productivity targets, establish store ranks, volume bands and new store inventory targets.
  • Collaborate with Retail Merchants to manage product lifecycle/exit strategies, recommending items for clearance and controlling aged inventory
  • Perform analysis on seasons' financial and assortment performance to develop next seasons' inventory plans
  • Recap and analyze actual sales/inventory results - quantify in-season risks and opportunities and make recommendations to merchant teams and management
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools including, Out of Stock, Never Out of Stock, Sell Thru, Top 50 and Ladder Plans.
  • Perform analysis on seasons' financial and assortment performance to develop next seasons' inventory plans
  • Assist merchants with assortment planning by providing lookback analysis and recommendations on seasonal product launches.
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions
  • Job duties may change at any time due to business needs

    QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelors' degree in retail, marketing or finance preferred.
    • 3-5 years work experience in retail planning, buying or merchandising required
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
    • Advanced business knowledge of retail and merchandising concepts
    • Comfortable with trend analysis and problem-solving skills
    • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficient with MS Excel.
    • Strong communication skills including the ability to work in a team environment

      Pay Range: $70,000- $80,000 plus bonus
