6+ month Contract to Direct Hire!Payroll Specialist Location: Costa Mesa, CA. (Remote to start but then Onsite, only accepting local candidates)$34-36 per hour on W2, NO C2CJob Details:* Performs a full range of payroll functions and payroll processing activities to ensure accurate and timely wage payments to employees.* Audits and loads time data using OTL, Excel spreadsheets, and manual timecards into the system. * Set up and process employee direct deposit information, tax withholding, and voluntary payroll deductions. * Completion of employment verifications. * Set up wage garnishments according to federal and state regulations. * Calculates retroactive wage payments to employees. * Processes employee status transactions including new hires, terminations and leaves of absence. * Processes a multi-state bi-weekly payroll for both hourly and salary employees. * Processes employee payments for relocations and other personal reimbursement programs. * Assists in testing system upgrades and legislative changes. * Assists the General Ledger personnel in researching variances in payroll accounts. * Audits paperwork entered into the HRIS system by the Human Resources personnel. * Operates a variety of equipment to perform clerical duties.* Good knowledge of general accounting practices and procedures.* Good knowledge of payroll regulations, practices and procedures.* Strong data entry skills.* Good knowledge of PC desktop applications.* Good customer service skills.* Strong ability to meet deadlines* Strong attention to detail and organization*
