Job Description

We are recruiting for an experienced software engineer. The candidate should be well rounded, self-motivated, and enjoy fast paced prototyping and development cycles. You will work within a collaborative cross-functional team in a Kanban environment. As a member of a seasoned technology team, you will provide strategic input into the direction of technology services at the company and tactically support coding efforts for various software and analytics projects. This role will report into the newly formed Analytics Engineering team at Experian that is the hybridization of several disciplines including software engineering, data engineering, DevOps & ML Ops.

The primary job role is to code for new patent-pending microservices and coding and support of existing platform features.
The secondary job role will be ensuring information security requirements are met and support daily Kanban processes of the software team.
The tertiary job role will be supporting the design and development of the Data Center of Excellence (DCOE) analytics and platform and processes.

Qualifications

Ability to think strategically and act tactically
Strong development background: someone who is very close to the code, able to do code reviews, architecture; more of a technical leader then someone that is looking to take orders.
10 years of prior software management experience
10 years of experience with Java development
5 years of experience with Python development
5 years design and development software experience with a heavy focus on building ETLs
3 years of experience building software and data services in AWS
3 years building in a microservices architecture
Experience with source control systems, such as SVN or GIT
Excellent proactive communications and planning skills
Experience working with large data sets
Collaborate with Business, Product, Software & Analytics Engineers, and QA teams
Participate in the full SDLC including Kanban meetings, iterative, test-driven development, task estimates and design sessions
Participate in on call rotation to handle technical issues escalated to the team as needed
BS Degree in computer science, engineering, physics, or related field

Bonus skills desired:

Financial Services or Identity Protection Services industry experience
PERL, AWS S3, AWS Dynamo DB, AWS Aurora, AWS Lambda, AWS Kinesis and/or Redshift experience, Jenkins experience
