Job Summary

Responsible for the accounting operations of the organization to include the production of periodic financial reports, oversight of the accounting systems and recordkeeping, and management of the comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the organization's reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and state and federal regulations. Position oversees accounting and accounts payable functions for Hoag, including all other Hospital affiliated entities. Ensures the integrity of the financial statements which are critical to Hoag. Provides oversight in audits of financial statements by external auditors and regulators and ensures compliance with all hospital reporting requirements. Facilitates and reviews appropriate tax reporting requirements for all Hoag and affiliated entities, as appropriate.

Travel - Position may require local travel between various Organization locations.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or another relatable degree approved by Vice President Finance or Controller

4-5 years public accounting experience

Strong technical U.S. GAAP accounting knowledge

Familiarity with computerized financial systems, familiarity with healthcare accounting and internal control procedures

2-3 years private accounting experience in a management/supervisory role in the healthcare industry preferred



Certified Public Accountant (California) Active status, if CPA inactive or delinquent then must convert to active status within 2 years of hire and must show proof of progress at annual performance review.
