JOB OVERVIEWUnder Food Service Manager supervision, the Restaurant Hostperforms the following duties:TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESGreet & seat guests in a timely manner & make sure the server is aware they have been seatedRecord guest name and number of people in the party and provide an estimated wait time during times of seating limitationsAccommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possibleTake phone orders, input into FPOS accurately, and send to cooks; double check orders are accurate before giving it to customersMust be able to learn and memorize different ingredients in the entire menuCharge correct amount to each placed orderMaintain accurate tender in cashier drawerSide work not limited to: making to-go utensil set ups, filling to-go dressings, butters and jamMaintain a clean and safe work environmentAssist kitchen staff (servers, bussers, etc.)Must be able to understand recipes in EnglishRestock cups, cutlery, and other supplies from stock room.Must have verbal proficiency of the English language and be able to read and write English at an advanced level.QUALIFICATION GUIDELINESAny combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:Training/Education:A High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificateExperience:Prior restaurant experience is a plus.Ability to:Be able to communicate clearlyWork in a fast paced environmentExcellent verbal and telephone skills to be able to communicate clearly and effectively with our guestsMust be able to assist guests and possess great people skillsPossess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.Punctuality and reliable attendance is a must.Maintain a clean and safe environmentComply with company standards and directivesPhysical Requirements/Working Conditions:Will always be standing and constantly lift 10 lbs.Lift bags containing prepared food, up to 25 lbs. from 24" to 36"Carry bowls and plates of food beverages up to 50 ft.Push/pull cart and dollySpecial Requirements:Must be available to work various shifts as neededThis job description is intended to describe the general requirements for the performance of this job.
