Position Purpose:

The Sr. Compensation and Benefits Analyst is responsible for analyzing and effectively administering El Pollo Loco's benefits and wellness strategies, annual renewals, compensation programs inclusive of incentive plans (long and short-term incentive programs and field incentive programs) to support EPL business and employment strategies. This role also oversees the 401k program and project support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Compensation

Oversees the development of a comprehensive compensation structure across all functions and levels within the organization, inclusive of base pay, variable pay programs, field incentives, and long and short-term incentive plans. Plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures to be responsive to the company's goals and competitive practices. This position is also responsible for ensuring through audits, legal updates and personal interactions that company compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations as well as federal, state and local law.

Benefits

Supports administration of all employee benefits, which may include retirement plans, leave policies, wellness programs, and insurance policies, such as health, life, and disability. This role develops, recommends and installs approved, new or modified plans and employee benefits policies and supervises administration of existing plans. This position frequently monitors legal landscape, government regulations and surveys industry to ensure that programs are current, competitive, and in compliance with federal, state and local laws. Partners closely with broker, coordinating and providing benefit data/information to outsourced benefit providers.

Supports the 401k audit process including the Engagement Letter, scheduling field audit work, gathering of requested documents, answering audit questions, coordination of filing form 5500, etc. Administers 401k election changes, enrollments, distribution notices, responses to DOL/IRS, etc.

Creates and conducts New Hire Orientation training for Support Center and MIT.

Work with HR colleagues to implement best practices, business process improvements and work redesign. Serves as a resource to the department and provides support as needed on various projects. Maintains current Desk Procedures for all core job functions.

Interacts professionally and ethically, constructively participating as a collaborative team member or leader in pursuit of common organizational goals.

Qualifications - Education, Experience, License/Certifications:

Education and Experience:

BA/BS degree required, preferably in Human Resources. Minimum 3 years Human Resource experience required, preferably in the restaurant/retail/construction industry. Must have at least 3 years' experience in compensation and benefits administration. Ability to read, write and speak Spanish is a strong plus.

License/Certifications:

PHR and CCP certification desired.
