Senior Business Analyst (Governance and Strategic Initiatives)

This unique role reports to the VP of Governance and Strategic Initiatives, North America, (VP of Governance) and supports the leadership of various regional initiatives for the Regional CEO. Governance initiatives span diverse areas such as operational risk management, cyber security, executive risk reporting, policy compliance and product management & governance optimization. Strategic initiatives include various regional strategic product launches.

What you'll be doing

Governance Initiatives

  • Support operation of the Three Lines of Defence (3LOD) governance model and collaboration between business units, corporate functions, and governance teams in the region
  • Manage monthly and quarterly working groups, including agendas, minutes, and action tracking
  • Prepare presentations for the Risk Management Committee and other committees as needed
  • Facilitate policy gap assessments by business units and the timely remediation of gaps
  • Develop, track, and distribute metrics to monitor status of key governance initiatives
  • Develop and maintain regional guidance, tools, and training materials on intranet site

Operational Risk and Controls Initiatives

  • Support business units in the identification, documentation and monitoring of key controls that manage the significant risks captured in Risk Control Self Assessments
  • Train business unit staff in the identification, documentation, and monitoring of key controls

Product Management and Governance Framework

  • Maintain guidance, tools, and training materials for the product management and governance framework
  • Manage monthly working groups with participation from product governance leads across all business units, including agendas, minutes and action tracking
  • Proactively identify functional enhancements that improve Salesforce for product governance and speed to market
  • Develop, track, and distribute metrics to monitor of product management & governance lifecycle activities

Information Security Initiatives

  • Support the VP of Governance as required to manage information security related issues, projects and working groups

Strategic Product Initiatives

  • Support the VP of Governance with strategic product initiatives as needed. This may include, project management, process mapping, risk & controls analysis, and product management related activities

What your background looks like

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years relevant experience
  • At least 2 years of operational risk, internal audit, or related experience
  • Ability and enthusiasm to learn new business areas, products, and technologies quickly
  • Experience of mapping processes, documenting controls, and facilitating workshops
  • A strong people-person with the ability to develop collaborative relationships with senior and mid-level management across business units, corporate functions and governance teams and the ability to influence behaviors and outcomes
  • Strong skills in Excel, Tableau and/or PowerBI a plus
  • Ability to approach organizational change management challenges in creative ways
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively, seeking input as appropriate
  • Ability to facilitate and manage projects across diverse virtual teams
  • Good understanding of Experian's business and culture an advantage
  • Good understanding of best practice governance and risk management frameworks an advantage
  • Good experience of process optimization an advantage, such as Lean and Six Sigma
  • Experience using the GRC RSA Archer tool an advantage
