The Senior Rotor Dynamics Engineer will support air vehicle design,
ground tests, and flight tests with dynamics analysis and design.
This role will handle the planning and execution of analysis,
design, and testing at varying levels of development. The engineer
will interface regularly with the Airframe, VMS, Powertrain,
Intelligent Systems, and other groups within Flight Technology.
What you can do:
- Run rotor dynamics analysis, design and testing of air vehicle
designs throughout development
- Develop aeroelastic models to predict the static and dynamic
stability of individual components as well as the entire air
vehicle
- Work with component designers to develop mass and stiffness
properties that provide for stable configurations
- Perform flutter and buffet analyses on the aircraft to identify
dynamic interactions between components
- Evaluate component test and vehicle flight test data, using
empirical data to improve analytical predictions and modeling
- Support the team to ensure global realization of the design
plan
- Work with the broader engineering team to conduct
multi-disciplinary trade studies to guide design decisions
- Contribute to model updates based on test data
- Perform requirement verification activities in various
engineering fields
- Support test procedure development and test execution
- Develop engineering tools, as needed, to complete engineering
tasks associated with Supernal concepts What you can contribute:
- B.S. degree in a relevant engineering field
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience (an equivalent
combination of education and experience may be considered)
- Experience performing rotor dynamics analysis to evaluate new
concepts and improve on existing concepts
- Experience with innovative, physics-based analysis and design
methods
- An understanding of aeromechanical engineering fundamentals,
especially with regards to eVTOL
- Capability to conduct dynamics and loads engineering
evaluations of vertical lift aircraft performance through analysis,
test, and a combination of the two
- Regular and comprehensive communication with the engineering
team
- Experience with rotorcraft or fixed-wing performance analysis
techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive delivery of communication and follow-up
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must have the ability to independently prioritize and
accomplish work within time constraints
- Self-motivated and driven personality
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite You may also be able to
