**Role Summary/Purpose:**

The VP, SecDevOps Senior Developer is responsible for designing, creating and maintaining detection, automation, and other content supporting the 24/7 Joint Security Operations Center (JSOC) and Cyber Operations Leadership requirements, while also providing key technical counsel to the SecDevOps Leader and the Cyber Intelligence Program Leadership Team. The SecDevOps Function devises detection and security automation strategies utilizing vendor-provided detection capabilities and augmenting those capabilities with custom detection, automation and other software solutions. The VP, SecDevOps Senior Developer will have extensive knowledge of programming languages, the environments in which software is developed and operated, and be well versed in the software development lifecycle.

**Essential Responsibilities:**

+ Partner with leadership to define the detection roadmap and strategy for the automation within security operations.

+ Current with emerging threat landscape and develops capabilities and strategies to safeguard the business from the latest threats.

+ Serves as an information security expert, trusted advisor, and central point of contact across technical and business stakeholders

+ An ability to conceptualize complex ideas quickly and convey them to others in a clear, effective, and motivating manner

+ Lead cross functional team in designing and building complex detectionuse cases across multiple technologies.

+ Identify and design automation use-cases through proven expertise and consultation with JSOC and other customers; create, deploy, and maintain automations, via Agile-process, responding to these use cases.

+ Lead team of developers in building advanced automations and playbooks to solve complex detection and operations use-cases.

+ Identify and design behavioral detection use cases to detect high risk users and assets on the network.

+ Identifyimprovementsto security posture through detection code modifications, architectural changes, automation, and process changes.

+ Maintain and prioritize backlog of development use cases with stakeholders includingproduct owners, scrum masters, developers, and requestors.

+ Design, develop and install software solutions to meet business and technical requirements.

+ Work in a constantly evolving environment, due to technological advances and the strategic direction of the organization.

+ Investigate problem areas. Improve system quality by identifying issues and common patterns and developing standard operating procedures.

+ Test software systems to diagnose and resolve system faults; Improve existing codebases and peer review code changes.

+ Partner with technology leaders in adherence to technology strategy and roadmap.

+ Follow software development lifecycle.

+ Design and implement monitoring, alerting and appropriate metrics to track and report performance and operational efficiency of software.

+ Drive technical innovation and efficiency in software operations via simplification and automation.

+ Accountable for day-to-day leadership of security vendor engagements to maximize tool utility for detection and automation use cases.

+ Create technical specifications and standards.

+ Mentor and coach junior developers

+ Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

**Qualifications/Requirements:**

+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Information Security; OR in lieu of the Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 7 years of experience in Information Security.

+ Minimum of 5 years of cyber threat detection and security automation experience leveraging industry standard toolsets / frameworks or related tools for detecting anomalous / malicious cyber activity on hosts or across networks

+ Extensive programming experience and knowledge of several common programming languages

+ Capableof full-stack engineering with experiencewith the software development lifecycle including software debugging and testing.

+ Proficiency in software design and architecture, algorithm and data structures, information analysis, and integration patterns.

**Desired Characteristics:**

+ Outstanding all-round communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

+ Deep experience building UI using popular frameworks

+ Deep experience building and consuming web services via SOAP and REST.

+ Deep Agile expertise

+ Critical thinking, problem solving and creativity

+ Experience with continuous integration environments like Jenkins

+ Experience building and deploying applications on Pivotal Cloud Foundry

+ Experience with writing unit, integration, and UI test cases

+ Hands on experience with customization and content/automation development in modern SIEM, UEBA, and SOAR tools

+ Prior incident response, security operations or security engineering experience with a focus on security content and alerting logic deployment and tuning

+ One or more relevant security certifications (GCIH, GCIA, etc.)

**Eligibility Requirements:**

+ You must be 18 years or older

+ You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

+ You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

+ You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

+ New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).

The salary range for this position is **100,000.00 - 200,000.00** USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.

**Grade/Level: 12**
