The RoleAbout the PositionWe are seeking a Credit Analyst who is diligent, resilient, curious, tenacious, and understands when to escalate issues. The Credit Analyst will be a multi-tasker with project management and organizational skills who will manage many accounts nationally. The Credit Analyst will report directly to our Credit Manager and will ideally be local to our Costa Mesa, CA office, but are open to remote employees as well. This role will work closely with our strategic dealer partners and will also work internally with our sales, sales operations, and warehouse teams. In this role, you will:

  • Resolve disputes and expedite the resolution by working cross-functionally with the appropriate department (such as Sales or Sales Operations) internally to resolve any outstanding credit issues.
  • Monitor, track, and pursue prompt payment on an assigned book of receivable accounts meeting established levels of currency set by management.
  • Follow up on payment commitments, escalating any issues to the Credit Manager for further assistance and timely resolution.
  • Work closely with strategic, high-volume accounts to authorize the release of orders and effectively negotiate payment plans
  • Conduct credit limit reviews as per the established guidelines both as needed (over credit limit or change in payment habits) and as instructed by the Credit Manager. Gather the required information on payment and sales history, credit reports, trade references, financial statements, and any other necessary documentation for the Credit Manager's review and assessment of the creditworthiness/limit.Process credit notes timely, accurately and within established guidelines regarding signature(s) of authority, duplicate entries, etc. returning those that do not meet requirements back to the submitting person for correction.
  • Provide reporting on bad debt, delinquencies, disputed balances, extended terms, etc. as requested and required by management.
  • Process New Account Documentation: Receive new account documents, check for completeness, and review creditworthiness according to established guidelines. Attain credit report(s) from the credit reporting agency(s), send out and gather trade and bank references, attain tax exemption certificates, etc. Submit the processed file and your recommendation to the Credit Manager for final approval. Notify the applicant and the sales team of the results.Requirements:
    • A minimum of five years of experience in the credit and receivables function, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
    • Preferably a degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Strong Excel user, 10 key, with experience using JDE, Oracle, and experience within customer portals
    • Experience working with collections, order releases, dispute resolution, account reconciliation, cash allocation, and issuing credit memos.
    • You have worked in a global organization and can effectively communicate and collaborate crossfunctionally to resolve issues.
